Reality Check Monday, February 15, 2010

I would love to say everything is going well all the time.

But sometimes it doesn’t.

Like today.

The last half of it didn’t go well.

It was a rough day for both of the kids today.

It is easy to have another life, but when their past life collides with their current life, it leads to troubled waters.

We don’t know all they have gone through.  We don’t know every story.  Sometimes living with us allows them to escape for awhile.  But sooner or later, they have to re-live everything again.

It is hard for them.

The reality check, for us, is that we only know a very small portion of their life – and we are helpless to even try to help until they choose to reveal the things troubling their hearts.

We can be creative and try and try and try to aid communication- but sometimes their past is something they can only choose to reveal when they are ready and comfortable.

Until then, we have the most powerful tool available:  PRAYER

That is the only thing we can do.

Kinda rough day…wishing I could be of help and support, yet on the other side of the door…Literally.

you’re doing great. Moms ( of all kinds!) have terrible, terrible days when you think, “Can I even do this?!!!” I know TD and BB need a special kind of love and support. You have my prayers.
