Behavior Chart Tuesday, March 9, 2010

I didn’t think I would need a behavior chart with big boy.

But, lately, I have found need for it.  I don’t like having an environment that catches the bad stuff and always says, “No.”

Don’t get me wrong – I have no problem saying “no” and being clear with our perimeters.

But, I don’t like it when I feel like ALL I am doing is saying, “No.”  It makes for an energy-all-sucked-out environment.

A few years ago, my pastor’s wife asked me to create this behavior chart for her children.  As I said, “no”, for the millionth time yesterday, this file simmering in my computer popped to my mind ever so clearly.

How beautiful it was today to give big boy a sticker for each item and use the sticker as the incentive for his good behavior.

He gets 25 cents each day he gets stickers on all categories.

He was working hard to follow the rules today!  And we are so proud of him!!!

P.S.  The Fruit of the Spirit is very condensed.  Due to big boy’s age, I wanted to focus on the areas that need most attention and keep it simple for him.
